Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev criticized the facts of emergency power outages during a regular staff meeting, the press service of the Kyrgyz Cabinet reported on Monday.

According to Kasymaliev, 26 high-voltage emergency outages have been recorded in Kyrgyzstan over the past year and a half. The causes of failures include violations of equipment operation rules, safety regulations, technical condition of equipment, breaks and damage to power lines due to the fault of contractor organizations, as well as negligent attitude on the part of individual responsible managers.

Kasymaliev instructed the head of the Department for Control of Execution of Decisions of the President and the Cabinet of Ministers, Azamat Apsatarov, to take this issue under personal control, as well as to create a special commission for a detailed study of the causes of power outages in a number of regions of the republic, including the incident that occurred on August 14.

Based on the results of the commission's work, a legal and disciplinary assessment will be given to the actions of officials of ministries, energy companies and contractor construction organizations that allowed these outages.
