The EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, has announced the 22nd package of sanctions against Russia, which she says will be the most extensive since 2022.

After the adoption of the new package, the number of Russian individuals and entities under EU sanctions will increase by approximately one third.

Kallas stated that Brussels intends to intensify sanctions pressure on Russia as early as this autumn.

It is worth recalling that earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had announced the preparation of new sanctions packages against Russia. According to him, the restrictions will affect Russia's military-industrial and financial sectors, as well as intermediaries.
