KazMunayGas (KMG) plans to drill 26 exploration wells by 2030, according to the Samruk-Kazyna sovereign wealth fund.

The fund noted that large-scale geological exploration using new technologies is planned. KMG's program includes 23 projects at various stages of preparation. The potential geological resources are estimated at up to 4.7 billion tons of standard fuel.

In addition to drilling, the company plans to conduct 6,250 km of 2D seismic and 2,540 square kilometers of 3D seismic surveys, as well as geochemical studies at 22,000 points. A separate focus is regional studies of the Caspian region. To study deep sub-salt deposits in the region, 60,000 km of 2D seismic is planned.
