Azerbaijan exported $671.40 million of fruit and vegetables in January-September 2026, with shipments totalling 563,340 tonnes. Tomatoes and hazelnuts together generated $288.86 million, roughly 43% of the category’s export value.

Weight and value tell different stories
Tomato exports reached 143,140 tonnes worth $172.34 million, while hazelnut exports totalled 11,250 tonnes worth $116.52 million. A much smaller weight of nuts generated substantial export value. This reflects product values, not farm profitability.

Seasonality matters
The reporting period ends in September and does not cover the entire autumn season. Nine-month results should not be extrapolated mechanically to the full year. Meaningful comparisons require matching periods, shipment volumes and unit values for each category.
