Ryanair expects European airfares to rise materially as fuel becomes more expensive, according to its results announcement on November 2.

April-September 2026 profit after tax fell 15% to EUR 2.15 billion. Passenger numbers rose 6% to 125.8 million, while the average fare declined 4%. Higher traffic did not offset cost pressure.

The airline estimates that its fuel bill could increase by about EUR 2 billion in the following financial year at current forward prices. That is a scenario, not expenditure already incurred.

The outlook does not imply a uniform increase for every flight. Individual ticket prices also depend on routes, booking dates, capacity and competition.
