Perplexity has introduced v1.2 models for its Decisions API, a tool that classifies information and returns probabilities rather than written answers. The models are part of the company’s 19 October product update.
The service accepts text, JSON and images. Developers can request yes/no probabilities, a choice among defined options or a score against a rubric. Software can use the output directly, for example to route support requests between teams.
The documentation lists a standard model and a smaller Flash variant. Both are available through the API, with open weights for self-hosting.
Perplexity also added role-based connector access for eligible Enterprise plans. Administrators can restrict connected sources to selected groups, while changes are recorded in audit logs.
