Uzbekistan is taking steps to strengthen stability in its oil and gas market. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has ordered an increase in domestic production, the building of sufficient reserves, and the assurance of uninterrupted supplies to consumers amid rising demand for hydrocarbons.

This was stated in a message from the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.

Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on measures to ensure the stable operation of the oil and gas market and reliable supplies of natural gas and petroleum products to the population and enterprises.

The presentation covered issues of production, import, processing, storage, and supply of oil and gas to consumers. Particular attention was paid to the need for accurate demand forecasting by industry and region, priority supply to the domestic market, and strict adherence to supply schedules.

The work of Uzbekneftegaz in maintaining stable natural gas production rates, efficient use of existing fields, and timely commissioning of new wells was also reviewed.

In August, 27 new wells are planned to be commissioned, which will allow an additional 887,000 cubic meters of natural gas to be produced at the Yangi Kultak, Niyoz, Koratau, Marvarid, and Tegirmon fields.

"It is extremely important to establish daily control over all processes, from drilling wells to connecting them to the gas transportation system, as well as to ensure uninterrupted operation of power supply and production infrastructure," the presidential administration stated.

The government also ordered increased efficiency in the use of existing processing capacities and stable supply of raw materials to oil and gas industry enterprises. Another priority is to increase the production of products in high demand on the domestic market.

The measures come amid Uzbekistan's growing need for natural gas and petroleum products due to expanding production capacities and increasing consumption by the population. Ensuring sufficient supply becomes especially important during periods of seasonal demand growth, when the load on the country's energy system increases.

The authorities ordered the timely formation of necessary reserves and coordination of the activities of enterprises responsible for the production, transportation, and sale of hydrocarbons.

Particular attention was paid to price stability. In particular, the authorities emphasized the need to maintain a sufficient level of supply on the market, put products up for exchange trading taking into account demand, and reduce production and logistics costs. Responsible structures were instructed to prevent artificial shortages, unjustified supply restrictions, and actions aimed at inflating prices.

Uzbekneftegaz was instructed to meet established oil and gas production targets and increase liquefied gas production to 606,000 tons by the end of 2026, compared to the previously planned 520,000 tons.

The President also instructed responsible agencies to analyze domestic market needs daily, identify supply risks in advance, and take prompt necessary measures.
