An accident in the power system of one Central Asian country has affected the energy system of the entire region. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.
As a result of the accident, power outages occurred in the Surkhandarya region and some other regions of Uzbekistan.
"Currently, power supply is being gradually restored by energy system workers. Additional information will be provided later," the ministry said in a statement.
Meanwhile, power supply disruptions were also recorded on August 14 in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan. In Bishkek, residents of several districts reported outages starting at 15:00 local time.
In Almaty and the Almaty region of Kazakhstan, outages also occurred. According to Alatau Zharyk Kompaniyasy JSC, lines L-5400, L-5300, and L-5320 were emergency disconnected, after which emergency automation was activated. The amount of disconnected load was 300 MW.
In Tajikistan, outages occurred in Dushanbe, Kulob, Khujand, Vahdat, Nurek, Hisor, Shahrinav, Rogun, and other populated areas.
