Production indicators at the STAR refinery, owned by Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR in Turkey, changed in June 2026 compared with the same month of 2025.
According to FinFly.News calculations based on data from Turkey's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), diesel production at STAR in June 2026 totaled 560,350 tonnes, up 6.1% from 527,978 tonnes in June 2025.
Jet fuel production fell 33.6% to 118,695 tonnes from 178,721 tonnes.
The most significant increase was recorded in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) production, which surged from 28,529 tonnes in June 2025 to 155,789 tonnes in June 2026, a 5.5-fold increase (+446.1%).
Naphtha production declined 39.7% to 80,810 tonnes from 133,963 tonnes, while petroleum coke fell 30.2% to 40,903 tonnes from 58,583 tonnes.
Additionally, in June 2026, STAR produced 42,761 tonnes of diesel containing biodiesel, 25,163 tonnes of heavy vacuum gasoil, and 174.31 tonnes of bitumen. Comparable figures for June 2025 are not available in the provided data, so percentage comparisons are not made for these items.
The main contribution to growth came from the sharp increase in LPG output, partially offsetting the reduction in jet fuel, naphtha, and petroleum coke production.
The STAR refinery, commissioned in October 2018, is the largest industrial investment in Turkey's real sector and combines refining with petrochemical production, playing a key role in SOCAR's downstream operations in the region.
