Mobile banking transaction volume fell about 14% in September while value rose 4.6%. The average transaction exceeded AZN 100.
One channel, two directions
In CBA electronic banking table 4.7, mobile banking processed 65.38 million transactions worth AZN 6.58 billion. August recorded 76.03 million transactions worth AZN 6.28 billion.
Average value rose from roughly AZN 82.7 to AZN 100.6. A lower transaction count therefore did not mean a similar decline in monetary activity. More money moved through fewer transactions.

Internet banking carries larger payments
Internet banking recorded 2.93 million September transactions worth AZN 32.52 billion. Its average transaction was around AZN 11,100, substantially above the mobile figure.
That gap is consistent with internet banking’s use for larger payments, including corporate settlements. The table does not identify every transaction’s purpose, however, so the average cannot establish the exact business or customer mix.
| Channel | Transactions, million | Value, AZN billion | Average, AZN |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mobile, August | 76.025 | 6.284 | 82.7 |
| Mobile, September | 65.380 | 6.576 | 100.6 |
| Internet, September | 2.934 | 32.523 | 11,083.8 |
One counter is not enough
Mobile banking leads by transaction count; internet banking leads by value. Looking only at volume understates the latter channel, while looking only at value misses routine mobile usage.
A single monthly decline also does not demonstrate customer losses. Transactions are not unique users. Establishing an outflow of users would require active-customer counts and comparable observations across several periods.
