Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted the growing role of the Middle Corridor in ensuring sustainable links between East and West and in international trade.

According to FinFly.News, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Bayramov made the statement at a consultative meeting of foreign ministers of Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone in Turkmenistan.

He stressed the need to deepen regional cooperation amid growing global instability, geopolitical competition and supply chain disruptions. In this context, Bayramov noted the importance of developing political dialogue, trade and mutual investment among the participants of the C6 format.

Speaking about strategic cooperation in transport and energy, the minister also noted the development of partnerships in the production and transmission of green energy, as well as the implementation of transport and digital projects to fully unlock the region's potential.

Special attention was paid to the environmental agenda. Bayramov expressed concern about the effects of climate change, the problems of the Aral Sea and water resources, as well as the ongoing decline in the level of the Caspian Sea, which negatively affects coastal infrastructure and the environmental situation.

Bayramov also noted the significance of the consultative meeting, held on the eve of a high-level summit, for preliminary discussion of key areas of cooperation.

He emphasized that Azerbaijan's admission last year as a full participant in the Consultative Meeting of Heads of State of Central Asia demonstrates the deepening of integration processes based on historical and cultural ties, mutual trust and common strategic interests.
