The United States, Armenia and Azerbaijan have issued a Joint Statement on the first anniversary of the Peace Summit held on August 8, 2025, in Washington.

"A year ago, President Trump, together with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, held a historic summit at the White House, during which President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a Joint Declaration on Peace.
In the presence of the three leaders, the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan initialed the draft 'Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan'.
On the first anniversary of this event, we feel deep pride in the achievements our countries have made through joint efforts, and we are determined to continue working on this basis, which has put an end to decades of conflict and opened the way for the South Caucasus to a more prosperous future.
As a sign of high appreciation for these historic and important efforts to ensure peace, President Aliyev and Prime Minister Pashinyan jointly nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
The Joint Declaration, with US support, defined a concrete roadmap for strengthening peace, ensuring prosperity, and deepening partnership between Armenia and Azerbaijan. In the year since the leaders' meeting, these countries have done foundational work to ensure further success.
✓ Armenia and Azerbaijan have maintained stability along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. Both sides are taking concrete steps to build confidence, normalize relations, delimit the border, and ensure long-term stability.
✓ The transit route 'Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity' (TRIPP) is gradually turning from an idea into reality through concrete progress, including an agreement between the US and Armenia to establish the TRIPP Development Company, which will oversee infrastructure development.
Engineering survey work is already underway in Armenia. Azerbaijan has almost completed the construction of automobile and railway roads on its territory, which will be connected to TRIPP in Armenia. The three countries also support the construction of a power transmission line along the TRIPP route.
✓ The United States allocated $201 million to the Trans-Caspian Entrepreneurship Fund to facilitate private investment in the Trans-Caspian Trade Route (Middle Corridor) in the South Caucasus and Central Asia.
✓ The US deepened relations with both Armenia and Azerbaijan, signing charters defining new bilateral strategic partnerships, as well as memoranda of understanding in the areas of energy security, border infrastructure and security, artificial intelligence and semiconductor innovation, and critical minerals.
These initiatives are investments in the long-term prosperity of all three countries and are already yielding concrete results.
✓ In accordance with the spirit of the Peace Summit held at the White House, Azerbaijan unilaterally lifted all transit restrictions against Armenia. Over the year, about 60,000 tons of cargo were transported through Azerbaijan to and from Armenia.
Azerbaijan also supplied Armenia with 20,000 tons of petroleum products. The two countries continue to work on increasing bilateral trade volumes.
✓ Telecommunications operators of the two countries signed an agreement on internet use, which will contribute to diversifying regional communication routes, increasing the reliability and resilience of the South Caucasus telecommunications infrastructure, and developing Eurasian telecommunications network infrastructure.
✓ As confirmation of the end of the period of unresolved conflict, the OSCE, the Minsk Group, and related structures were dissolved based on a joint appeal by Armenia and Azerbaijan."
✓ At the invitation of the US, Armenia and Azerbaijan joined the Peace Council.
