President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory letter to his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky.

The congratulatory message reads:

"Dear Mr. President,

On my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan, I sincerely congratulate you and, in your person, your friendly people on the significant anniversary – the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence, and convey my best wishes.

The current level of Azerbaijani-Ukrainian friendly relations, which have rich traditions, is a source of satisfaction. Political dialogue, high-level mutual visits, and cooperation in economic and humanitarian spheres are important aspects of our strategic partnership. I would particularly like to note the fruitful cooperation in the energy sector that has continued for many years.

I highly appreciate the results of your working visit to Azerbaijan in April this year and our meeting with you. Undoubtedly, regular meetings and contacts, mutual support on issues of territorial integrity and sovereignty of our countries are the main factors strengthening interstate relations.

Active dialogue at the highest level creates a favorable ground for deepening cooperation in various spheres, particularly in trade, economy, humanitarian, agricultural, investment, and other areas. We will continue to provide humanitarian support to the friendly people of Ukraine.

I am confident that in the interests of both peoples, we will continue to make joint efforts aimed at strengthening Azerbaijani-Ukrainian friendly ties.

On this festive day, I wish you good health and happiness, and to the friendly people of Ukraine – peace, tranquility, and prosperity."
