What the program does

Why it matters

The ADB notes that many countries in the region still have weaknesses in public financial management and procurement systems. These lead to higher transaction costs, reduced project efficiency, and limit the use of national systems in implementing bank-financed programs.

Procurement diagnostics are conducted using the OECD MAPS methodology. Under the new assistance, the ADB will join the MAPS Steering Committee and support the financing of the program secretariat for the 2027–2029 cycle.
