Azerbaijan has discussed opportunities for cooperation with one of China's largest state-owned companies, CITIC Group, on the project of an artificial intelligence-based computing platform to be implemented in Baku.
As reported by FinFly.News citing the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the discussions took place during a meeting between Deputy Minister Samaddin Asadov and a delegation led by CITIC Group Vice President Benjamin Bao.
One of the topics discussed at the meeting was the involvement of CITIC Group as a potential partner, including as a participant in financing and construction and installation works, in connection with the platform, which is planned to be implemented in stages, with initial capacity planned at up to 1 GW.
Opportunities for cooperation with CITIC Group within the framework of AZCON Holding projects in the fields of transport, communications, and the National Center for Artificial Intelligence were also discussed.
CITIC Group operates in five main business areas: banking services, non-banking financial services, industrial production, advanced materials, and new-type urbanization. The company's total assets amount to approximately $1.5 trillion.
