Consumer prices in Russia rose by 0.01% from August 18 to 24, following three consecutive weeks of price declines: from August 11 to 17, prices fell by 0.02%, after a 0.06% decline from August 4 to 10, and a 0.02% decline from July 28 to August 3, Rosstat reported on Wednesday.
Since the beginning of the month, consumer prices as of August 24 had decreased by 0.07% from the start of the month, while prices have risen by 4.68% since the start of the year.
Based on data for the first 24 days of August in this and last year, annual inflation in Russia as of August 24 slowed to 6.08% from 6.09% on August 17 (at the end of July, annual inflation was 5.98%), if calculated from weekly dynamics (a methodology used by the Central Bank), and rose to 6.23% as of August 24 from 6.13% on August 17, if calculated from average daily data for the entire August 2025 (a methodology used by the Ministry of Economic Development).
