The United Kingdom has announced 31 new sanctions measures against Russia, according to the UK government's website.

The sanctions target 23 individuals and entities, as well as eight vessels. In particular, restrictions were imposed on ships used to transport Russian liquefied natural gas in circumvention of sanctions, and on individuals London links to the spread of pro-Russian disinformation and violations of the rights of Ukrainian citizens.

In addition, the restrictions affected four Georgian citizens whom London links to the spread of pro-Russian disinformation.

The package also introduced restrictions against three vessels that the British side classifies as part of the shadow fleet, two vessels providing them with bunkering services, and three Russian icebreaking vessels.

According to the statement, individuals and entities face asset freezes and restrictions on the provision of trust services, while individuals are also subject to a ban on entering the United Kingdom. Shipping and trade restrictions have been imposed on the vessels.

The UK Foreign Office also announced a limited extension of certain licences for the maritime transport of liquefied natural gas to ensure the energy security of Japan and the Republic of Korea.
