US President Donald Trump said that following a phone call with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, an agreement was reached on large-scale supplies of Russian diesel to the US and global markets.
According to FinFly.News, the White House head wrote on Truth Social, calling the conversation "very successful."
According to Trump, Russia will immediately supply more than 300,000 tonnes of diesel, another 500,000 tonnes in November, and then an additional 1 million tonnes.
"Moreover, given the state of Russian oil refineries, Russia will supply another 3 million tonnes of diesel within a short time," the US president wrote.
Trump expressed confidence that these supplies, along with his stated full US control over the Strait of Hormuz, will lead to a rapid and significant drop in diesel prices both in the United States and worldwide.
He stressed that lowering fuel prices for Americans, especially farmers, ranchers and truck drivers, is one of his main priorities.
"This is a very important and significant announcement. Moreover, it must be understood that Iran will not have nuclear weapons," Trump concluded.
