Sovcombank assesses the risks of default by marketplaces and their sellers as low, said Andrei Osnos, managing director of the bank, during a conference call with journalists.

"We have exposure to marketplaces in our corporate portfolio. We believe the probability of default remains immaterial. These are large systemically important organizations in the country, and the bank's portfolio is diversified. Our internal standards and limits per borrower and per sector are significantly lower than the CBR's requirements. Accordingly, we believe the risk here is small both in terms of default probability and exposure to this sector," Osnos said.

In recent weeks, a number of logistics facilities of marketplaces in various regions have been damaged as a result of drone attacks.

This week, the Bank of Russia issued a letter recommending that lenders support entrepreneurs affected by incidents involving marketplace facilities. In particular, the regulator recommended that lenders accommodate borrowers regardless of whether the borrower is legally entitled to a credit holiday, and restructure loans under their own programs. The CBR also asked lenders to refrain from charging fines and penalties for overdue payments and not to demand early repayment of loans. When changing the terms of loan agreements, it is recommended to promptly provide the borrower with updated information on the new payment schedule.
