Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak announced the ban on diesel fuel exports during a meeting of President Vladimir Putin with government members.

"Today we introduced a ban on diesel fuel exports, and this will allow us to increase supplies to the domestic market," the deputy prime minister said.

According to Novak, the decision will ensure additional volumes of diesel fuel for domestic consumption and stabilize the situation on the Russian market.
