The country's first bank, Kapital Bank, has attracted financing by placing 50 million manats in bonds on the Baku Stock Exchange through a private placement with a foreign institutional investor. This is Kapital Bank's first deal to attract funding from a foreign bank through bonds denominated in the national currency.
The foreign bank's investment in Kapital Bank's bonds is significant not only for diversifying the bank's resource base but also for enhancing its appeal to foreign investors.
It is worth noting that since 2024, Kapital Bank has been actively operating in the local capital market. Over this period, the bank has successfully carried out 11 bond issues totaling 170 million US dollars and 260 million manats. High demand from local investors for previous bond issues helped strengthen the bank's position in the domestic capital market.
The new bond placement has allowed Kapital Bank to expand the geography of its investment base and create an opportunity for foreign financial institutions to invest in the bank through the local capital market. The participation of a foreign investor is also important for enhancing the potential of Azerbaijan's securities market and interest in local financial institutions.
Kapital Bank is the country's first bank, part of PASHA Holding, and has the largest service network in Azerbaijan: 116 branches, 51 offices, and 13 Digital Centers across the country. More detailed information about the bank's products and services can be obtained on the website https://kapitalbank.az, the bank's social media pages, or by calling the customer service center at 196.
