The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced strikes on three American vessels and three oil tankers that were traveling along unauthorized routes in the Strait of Hormuz.

"The IRGC Naval Forces struck three oil tankers traveling along unauthorized routes in the Strait of Hormuz and three American vessels," the statement said.
It is noted that the attacks were carried out in response to US strikes on Iranian tankers.
Earlier, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced strikes on three Iranian oil tankers. "On September 5, CENTCOM forces struck three Iranian oil tankers after Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched ballistic missiles at two US Navy vessels patrolling the region's waters," the statement said.
