US Strikes Three Iranian Tankers After IRGC Missile Attack

American forces attacked three tankers linked to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) after the IRGC attempted a missile strike on US ships, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported on social media platform X.

"CENTCOM forces conducted strikes on three Iranian oil tankers on September 5 after the IRGC launched ballistic missiles at two US Navy ships patrolling local waters," the statement said.

CENTCOM noted that the Iranian attacks caused no damage to the US aircraft carrier or destroyer, and there were no American casualties.

In response, US military forces disabled the tanker Downy near Kharg Island and the tanker Stark 1 near the city of Jask. US troops also destroyed an unloaded tanker, Kylo, in the Gulf of Oman, striking it multiple times after the crew was ordered to abandon it.
