President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Nakhchivan Industrial Park on August 11.

Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov informed the head of state and the First Lady about the Nakhchivan Industrial Park.

It was noted that this industrial park was established in accordance with the Decree of the President of Azerbaijan signed in 2024. To organize the activities of the Nakhchivan Industrial Park, the initial stage envisages preparing the territory for use, and the next stage involves creating external and internal infrastructure, including electricity and heat supply, gas and water supply, communications, transport, production, administrative, social and other facilities.

The industrial park, located in the southwestern part of the city of Nakhchivan, south of the Nakhchivan–Sadarak highway, will occupy an area of 310 hectares. Negotiations are already underway on a number of projects to attract potential entrepreneurs to the industrial park.

Currently, there are eight industrial parks operating in the country: Sumgait Industrial Park, Mingachevir Industrial Park, Garadagh Industrial Park, Pirallahi Industrial Park, Aghdam Industrial Park, Hajigabul Industrial Park, Araz Valley Economic Zone Industrial Park, and Balakhani Industrial Park.

In addition, the process of obtaining technical conditions for the creation of the Western Industrial Park, which will be established on the administrative territories of Ganja city and Shamkir district, is ongoing.

A total of 184 residents have been registered in these industrial parks, of which 101 are already operating. To date, residents have attracted over 7.1 billion manats in investments and created more than 11,500 jobs.

As of July 1, 2026, industrial parks have produced products worth a total of 21.4 billion manats, of which products worth 6.7 billion manats were exported.
