In the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, in 2026-2027, it is planned to expand the use of alternative and renewable energy sources, update road, transport, and educational infrastructure, as well as continue improvement and construction works.
In this regard, President Ilham Aliyev signed a corresponding decree.
By the decree, in order to further accelerate the socio-economic development of the Nakhchivan AR, a total of 258 million manats has been allocated from the state budget and the budget of Nakhchivan for the implementation of a number of measures. Of this, 66 million manats to the Open Joint Stock Company "Azerenergy" for the continuation of construction and installation works at the Tivi Hydroelectric Power Station with a total capacity of 15.6 MW on the Gilanchay River in the village of Tivi, Ordubad district; 70 million manats to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for the major repair of 2 inter-village, 5 city, and 10 village roads with a total length of 420 kilometers, connecting 26 settlements with a total population of 156.3 thousand people (the list of roads is attached).
For the construction of a dormitory for 1,000 students of Nakhchivan State University, 25 million manats have been allocated to the Ministry of Science and Education. The relevant executive authorities of cities (districts) have been allocated 15 million manats for the full major repair of a total of 92 residential buildings with 2,164 apartments in the cities of Nakhchivan, Sharur, Julfa, Ordubad, and Shahbuz, as well as for the major repair of only the facades of 70 residential buildings with 3,087 apartments in the cities of Nakhchivan, Julfa, and Sharur.
The Cabinet of Ministers of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic has been allocated 20 million manats for the construction of a total of 5 new preschool educational institutions for 640 places in the NAR, including 100 places in the village of Bulgan of the city of Nakhchivan, 100 places in the village of Dasta of the Ordubad district, 100 places in the city of Sharur, 240 places in the village of Abragunus of the Julfa district, and 100 places in the village of Garabaglar of the Kangarli district.
The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan has been allocated 53 million manats at the initial stage for the renewal of the intercity public transport fleet, and the relevant executive authorities of cities (districts) - 9 million manats for the major repair of 45 heating boiler houses serving 5,335 apartments in 122 residential buildings in the cities of Nakhchivan, Sharur, Julfa, and Ordubad.
