Prices for motor fuel and oils in the European Union rose by 13.7% in June compared with the same month last year, according to data from Eurostat, the EU's statistical office.
In May, the increase was 20.7%, in April 20.8%, and in March 12.9%. Before February, fuel prices had been mostly declining both across the EU as a whole and in most member states, the report said.
Last month, the most significant price increases were recorded in Bulgaria (+26%), Lithuania (+23.5%), Romania (+23.1%), and France (+22%). The smallest increase was in Hungary (+2.3%).
