PAŞA Həyat recorded the largest insurance payouts in January–August 2026, at AZN 477.19 million. PAŞA Sığorta led non-life insurance with AZN 115.06 million. The ranking is calculated from the Central Bank’s insurer-level payout table.

The 15 active companies paid AZN 769.95 million. The published market total is higher, at AZN 773.15 million, because it includes payments by insurers with revoked licences. The rankings below cover active participants.

Life insurance produces the largest payment flows

Atəşgah Həyat paid AZN 80.40 million, placing second in its segment. Life insurance as a whole generates a different scale of cash obligations from most property and liability insurers.

Savings policies pay customers when contracts mature as well as when covered events occur. Large payouts can therefore reflect the maturity profile of a portfolio, rather than large numbers of accidents, illnesses or other insured events.

What the ranking shows and leaves unanswered

Absolute payment amounts reveal which companies manage the largest cash flows. They help describe business scale and liquidity needs. They cannot establish how quickly an individual claim is settled.

Assessing claims service requires claim counts, decision times, rejection rates and complaints. An insurer with smaller payouts is not necessarily less willing to pay: it may have fewer contracts or cover a different mix of risks.

Match payments with contract maturities

The timing of future payments relative to investment maturities deserves close attention. If those dates diverge, an insurer must manage the funding gap even when its capital is adequate.

Life and non-life companies are presented separately. All amounts relate to the same eight months and are expressed in millions of manats. This is a ranking of payout volume, not a league table of the best or worst insurance providers.
