In January-July of this year, beverages and tobacco products worth 1 billion 672 million manats were sold to consumers in Azerbaijan's retail trade network. According to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, this figure is 1.3 percent higher than in the same period of 2025.

It should be noted that in January-July 2026, goods worth 38 billion 358.5 million manats were sold to consumers in the retail trade network, including food products, beverages and tobacco products – 20 billion 843.9 million manats, and non-food products – 17 billion 514.6 million manats. Compared to January-July 2025, retail trade turnover in real terms increased by 3.8 percent, including food products, beverages and tobacco products – by 1.4 percent, and non-food products – by 6.6 percent.

In January-July 2026, 50 percent of funds spent by buyers on purchasing goods in the retail trade network accounted for food products, 4.3 percent – for beverages and tobacco products, 12.5 percent – for textile products, clothing and footwear, 6.1 percent – for motor fuel, 4.8 percent – for electrical goods and furniture, 2.8 percent – for pharmaceutical products and medical supplies, 1.4 percent – for computers, telecommunications equipment and printed products, and 18.1 percent – for other non-food products.

During the reporting period, each resident of the country on average purchased goods worth 533.6 manats monthly in the retail trade network, including food products, beverages and tobacco products – 290.0 manats, and non-food products – 243.6 manats.

Overall, in January-July of this year, Azerbaijan's GDP amounted to 76 billion 818 million manats. This figure increased by 1.4 percent compared to the same period of 2025.

During the reporting period, value added in the oil and gas sector of the economy decreased by 0.6 percent and amounted to 22 billion 917 million manats, while in the non-oil and gas sector it increased by 2.2 percent, amounting to 53 billion 901 million manats.
