As of September 1 this year, the assets of Azerbaijan's banking sector amounted to 62 billion 475.9 million manats. According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, this is 12.2% more compared to September 1 last year.
At the end of August, the volume of net loans issued to clients of Azerbaijani banks stood at 30 billion 841.3 million manats. Over the year, the figure rose by 14.3%, and the share of loans in bank assets increased from 48.5% to 49.4%.
The liabilities of the banking sector over the same period grew by 12.6%, to 54 billion 722.7 million manats.
The deposit portfolio increased by 14.45%, to 41 billion 792.5 million manats. Of this amount, 17 billion 810.9 million manats were household deposits, and 23 billion 981.6 million manats were corporate deposits. Over the year, these figures rose by 18.1% and 11.9%, respectively.
Banks' liabilities to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan decreased by approximately 20%, to 0.4 million manats. The sector's balance sheet capital grew by 9.55%, to 7 billion 753.2 million manats.
