A future gas pipeline under the TRIPP project could become a new source of gas for Armenia, said Sargis Khandanyan, a deputy of the ruling Civil Contract party, during a briefing.
According to him, if the issue of revising the price of Russian gas arises, Armenia will discuss it amicably with Russian partners. He believes diversification in this matter is important.
Khandanyan noted that during the recent visit of Armenia's Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures to Iran, the possibility of increasing gas supplies from the Islamic Republic was discussed.
"The TRIPP project also concerns a gas pipeline, that is, within its framework a gas pipeline will be laid through the territory of Armenia. And this is probably another opportunity to have an additional source of gas. Although, of course, this is theory, but in practice it is not difficult to implement," Khandanyan said.
He also theoretically did not rule out the scenario of direct gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Armenia.
