Israel-based Appcharge Ltd. has registered for VAT on digital services in Azerbaijan. The tax authority reported the move on November 2, while the registration itself took effect on November 1, 2026.

Appcharge became the 24th foreign digital-services provider in the register. Its name and registration date appear in the State Tax Service’s official list.

Registered non-resident providers follow a different collection mechanism: banks do not withhold VAT from payments for their services. Instead, the supplier calculates the tax, files the declaration and pays the amount into the state budget itself.

This changes tax administration, not the existence of VAT. The absence of a separate bank withholding does not make a service tax-exempt. For customers, the supplier’s invoice and final payment amount remain relevant; for the company, registration creates a direct reporting obligation to Azerbaijan’s tax authority.
