Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva won Brazil’s presidential runoff with 51.79% after all voting records were counted, Vedomosti reports, citing Reuters and election authorities.
Flávio Bolsonaro received 48.21%. Around 64.26 million voters backed Lula, compared with approximately 59.83 million for his challenger.
The new term is scheduled to begin on January 5, 2027. The result preserves continuity in the presidency; specific economic measures for the next term remain to be announced.
