Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed the law ratifying the Free Trade Agreement with Turkey. The relevant information was published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The agreement is aimed at developing bilateral economic cooperation, expanding markets for Ukrainian producers, creating new opportunities for business, as well as developing and modernizing local production.
The Free Trade Agreement was signed on February 3, 2022, in Kyiv by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Turkish Trade Minister Mehmet Muş, following 12 rounds of negotiations held in 2011–2022.
The Turkish parliament ratified the document in early August 2024, and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine did so on July 14, 2026.
The agreement will enter into force after the completion of domestic procedures and the exchange of ratification instruments between the two countries.
