TuranBank, one of the country's leading banks, has successfully completed a strategic project aimed at promoting gender equality in the financial sector. The project was implemented within the framework of a long-term cooperation between Enabling Qapital, a leading Swiss investment fund regulated by FINMA, and the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University (USA). Combining academic research and practical approaches, the project contributed to the introduction of more inclusive practices in the financial industry.

As part of the project, six graduate students from Columbia University, with the assistance of Enabling Qapital, visited Azerbaijan to conduct practical research at TuranBank. During the visit, they met with employees from the head office and branch network, including women in leadership positions, to gain a deeper understanding of the role of women in management and the implementation of gender equality principles in the workplace. In addition, the Bank's initiatives aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs, expanding their access to preferential financial resources, and increasing women's economic activity in business were discussed.

The project culminated in a final presentation attended by members of TuranBank's Board, during which the Bank's initiatives, achieved results, and further plans for developing gender equality were reviewed in detail. A comprehensive action plan was also presented, providing for further strengthening of the Bank's work in this direction. In particular, the plan includes educational programs, mentoring initiatives, and the improvement of legal mechanisms aimed at preventing gender-based discrimination and fostering a more inclusive work environment.

TuranBank reaffirms its commitment to gender equality principles in all areas of its activities and is confident that such projects, implemented with the support of international partners, will contribute to expanding women's participation in Azerbaijan's economy and strengthening their role in entrepreneurial activities.
