Under the leadership of Vusal Khalilov, Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank, a roundtable was held on the topic 'Expanding Digital Transformation of the Banking Sector and Adoption of Artificial Intelligence'.

The Deputy Chairman noted the importance of consistent implementation of the national agenda on digital transformation and AI adoption in the banking sector. He emphasized the need to implement in the banking sector the priorities defined at the meeting 'New Digital Architecture of Azerbaijan', held in February this year under the chairmanship of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, as well as at the first meeting of the Digital Development Council, held in June under the chairmanship of First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva.

The meeting was attended by executives responsible for digital transformation in banks. The discussions covered the application of artificial intelligence in the financial sector, as well as the main challenges faced by market participants in the digitalization process. In addition, participants exchanged views on expectations from the Central Bank and relevant government bodies in terms of supporting and accelerating digital transformation processes.

It was noted that the opinions and proposals expressed during the discussions will be taken into account when shaping further directions for the digital development of the banking sector.
