European gas prices rose 1.5% to $705 per thousand cubic meters during daytime trading, according to data from the London-based ICE exchange.

August (front-month) futures on the TTF index (the largest European distribution hub, located in the Netherlands) opened trading at $689.4 (-0.7%). The indicator later reached $704.7 per barrel.

The dynamics are based on the previous trading day's settlement price of $694.2 per thousand cubic meters.

European gas prices began rising on March 2, the first trading day after the start of US and Israeli strikes on Iran. They reached a conflict high of $853.7 per thousand cubic meters on March 19, when the world's largest LNG producer, Qatar, sharply cut production.
