Specialists have questioned the advisability of buying a used graphics card. This is reported by BGR.
According to the media's journalists, graphics card prices have risen noticeably in recent years, forcing computer users to look for components on the secondary market. However, experts have warned ordinary computer owners against buying used graphics cards and cited reasons.
The article states that graphics cards often put up for sale may be heavily worn. Moreover, checking the status and integrity of the part is quite difficult - special tests are required. In addition, a worn device will have to be upgraded, which will lead to new expenses.
The journalists also noted that used graphics cards often cost not much less than new ones. For example, they compared prices and found that the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti costs only $40 (3,000 rubles) less on the used market than a new device. According to experts, in most cases, the extra cost is worth the peace of mind and official warranty.
