The Central Bank of Azerbaijan has announced that the next strategic period will focus on digitalization and the adoption of AI. In response to a question about readiness to share expertise and technology with the regulator and market participants in Azerbaijan, Kirill Khomyakov, Binance's Regional Head for Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and Africa, said in an exclusive interview with FinFly.News:
"We are indeed actively developing our own AI solutions in risk management, compliance, and other areas: we operate more than 100 AI models and over 24 security initiatives, which from the start of 2025 through Q1 2026 have helped users save over $10.53 billion and protected more than 5.4 million people. In Q1 2026 alone, AI intercepted 22.9 million fraud and phishing attempts, and AI solutions now cover 57% of all fraud checks, reducing card fraud by 60–70% relative to the industry average. We have also obtained ISO/IEC 42001 certification for responsible AI management. Overall, we maintain an open approach to sharing expertise with regulators and market participants where it aligns with applicable regulations, and we are ready to discuss this as relevant initiatives from the country's regulator emerge."
