Azerbaijan Airlines has successfully operated its first flight to the Turkish city of Kars, the press service of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC announced.

Passengers on the inaugural flight were given a ceremonial welcome at Kars Harakani Airport. Flights on the new route will operate twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays. The launch of the new destination will contribute to further expanding air connectivity between Azerbaijan and Turkey, increasing travel opportunities, and developing tourism, business, and cultural ties between the two countries.

Turkey remains the largest international market for Azerbaijan Airlines. The airline currently operates regular flights to Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Antalya, Bodrum, Trabzon, Dalaman, Adana, and Kars.
