The airline reported that passengers will be provided with detailed information about possible changes, and after weather conditions stabilize, flights will continue to operate as normal.
The airline noted that weather conditions in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, including strong winds, sudden wind shifts, and thunderstorm activity, could affect the safety of takeoff and landing.
Decisions to delay or cancel flights are made based on actual and forecast weather along the entire route and at departure and arrival airports, in accordance with international aviation safety standards.
"In aviation, decisions are made based on existing and forecast meteorological conditions along the route and at departure and arrival airports. For example, thunderstorm activity, strong winds, vertical air currents, heavy precipitation, low visibility, or storm clouds may not be visible from the ground. However, since these meteorological phenomena seriously affect flight safety, the crew and operational services make appropriate decisions in accordance with international aviation safety standards," AZAL reported.
