Relations with Central Asian countries are one of the priorities of Azerbaijan's foreign policy. This was stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at an informal consultative meeting of heads of state of Central Asia and Azerbaijan.
"It is enough to mention the dynamics of mutual visits from the beginning of 2023 to today. Over three and a half years, I have visited the brotherly countries of Central Asia a total of 16 times. My colleagues have visited Azerbaijan 26 times during this period. This statistics speaks better than anything about the dynamics, the closeness of relations, and the fact that today Central Asia and Azerbaijan have turned into a single geopolitical and geo-economic region," President Aliyev said.
He also noted that he is participating in the consultative meeting for the first time as a full member of this format.
"I want to assure you that Azerbaijan, for its part, will make every effort to further increase cooperation and bring our countries and peoples even closer together," Ilham Aliyev said.
