In recent days, users of ABB Bank have been reporting widespread failures when trying to top up their cards or make transfers via Apple Pay. According to customers, the transactions result in a debit of funds on the sender's side, but the transactions are not completed, and an error appears in the ABB app.
One customer told FinFly that when attempting to top up an ABB card via Apple Pay, the money was debited but the bank rejected the transaction. ABB's support service told him that "technical problems with money transfers and top-ups are being observed" and assured that the funds would be returned to the sender's card.
According to market experts, refunds for declined Apple Pay transactions can take from 3 to 30 business days. In most cases, money is returned within a week, but delays are possible if the payment processor does not immediately transmit the final status of the transaction to the bank.
ABB confirms the existence of technical problems with certain types of transactions. Errors occur when topping up cards and making money transfers via Apple Pay. Refunds depend not only on ABB but also on payment systems and card-issuing banks.
