Azerbaijan has completed 95% of the road and 75% of the railway for the Zangezur Corridor on its territory. The work is set to be finished in the first half of 2027.
This was announced by Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov at the Second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2026).
"95% of the road and 75% of the railway have already been built, and both are expected to be completed in the first half of next year," Mammadov said.
He noted that engineering work is also currently underway in Armenia, and construction of the roughly 42 km section of the corridor on Armenian territory is planned to begin in early 2027.
According to the deputy minister, the Zangezur Corridor could become an important platform for regional economic integration, while also providing closer links between the South Caucasus and the Trans-Caspian network.
"It will become an important link in the Middle Corridor, cutting cargo delivery times from the current three weeks to 12–15 days," Mammadov said.
