Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air will increase the number of aircraft based in Armenia to four and launch flights from Yerevan on three new routes.
This was announced at a press conference by Wizz Air's Chief Commercial Officer, Ian Malin.
According to him, starting December 18, the airline will operate three weekly flights from Yerevan to Basel (Switzerland), and from December 19, two weekly flights to Valencia (Spain). Flights to Varna (Bulgaria) are planned to launch on June 6.
"Wizz Air is one of the fastest-growing airlines. From Armenia, we have 18 destinations in 12 European countries. By the time the third aircraft arrives in October, we are already thinking about the fourth. I am pleased to announce that the fourth aircraft will be based in Yerevan from December," said Malin.
He noted that after basing the fourth aircraft in Yerevan, the frequency of flights on several routes will be increased starting December 17. In particular, the number of flights from Yerevan to Prague will increase to five per week, and to Memmingen (Germany) to four.
