A supertanker carrying oil and traveling in the southern part of the Strait of Hormuz struck two naval mines. This was announced by the naval forces of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

In the IRGC statement, it is claimed that the tanker struck two naval mines while attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz along a route that did not comply with established rules.

According to available information, as a result of the incident, a strong fire broke out on the tanker, and the vessel lost propulsion.

The IRGC naval forces stated that vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz must comply with established safety and navigation rules.
