Mercedes-Benz reported record quarterly battery-electric vehicle sales, but group adjusted EBIT fell 15% to €1.78 billion in the third quarter of 2026, according to results released on 28 October.
Revenue was €30.7 billion, compared with €32.1 billion a year earlier. Reported EBIT instead increased from €0.75 billion to €1.77 billion, mainly reflecting lower adjustments than in the previous year.
Battery-electric vehicle sales rose 61% year on year. The company nevertheless cited intensifying competition in China and currency headwinds. The divergence between reported and adjusted earnings illustrates why improvement in one measure does not establish stronger performance across the business.
