On August 10-11, 2026, representatives of the transport ministries of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan conducted a joint working inspection of transport and logistics infrastructure facilities on the Kazakh-Chinese border. This was reported by the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The working trip was organized as part of the implementation of agreements reached following the 23rd meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Cooperation. The delegations were led by Vice Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan Zhanibek Taizhanov and First Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Mamanbiy Omarov.
During the trip, the delegations visited the Altynkol railway station, the Kedentransservice terminal, the KTZE-Khorgos Gateway dry port, and the Khorgos – Eastern Gate special economic zone. The Uzbek side was shown the mechanisms for receiving, processing, and transshipping cargo from China, the capabilities of Kazakhstan's railway and terminal infrastructure, as well as the organization of further dispatch of cargo along international routes.
Special attention was paid to the prospects of increasing cargo flow along the China – Kazakhstan – Uzbekistan route, the efficient use of terminal capacities, and the development of joint logistics solutions.
Following the inspection, the parties agreed to continue working on joint initiatives to increase transportation volumes, develop terminal infrastructure, and strengthen transport and logistics connectivity between the two countries.
