Kazakhstan has formally asked Russia about resuming oil deliveries to Germany via the northern branch of the Druzhba pipeline, Energy Minister Erlan Akkenzhenov told a government briefing in Astana on November 4, according to local media.
Akkenzhenov said Kazakhstan was technically ready to resume shipments and was waiting for Russia’s response. He did not announce an agreement on timing or volumes.
The route carries Kazakh crude through Russia to the refinery in Schwedt, Germany. Deliveries on this route were suspended in May. Kazakhstan shipped about 2.1 million tonnes through it in 2025.
