The National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran's Majlis has approved a new bill on the management of the Strait of Hormuz. This was reported by the Iranian state broadcaster.

"The committee approved the bill 'On Strategic Measures to Ensure Security and Sustainable Development of the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf,'" the report said.

Earlier, on August 7, Alireza Salimi, a member of the presidium of the Iranian parliament, said that the Iranian parliament is considering a bill that would ban the passage of ships linked to the United States and Israel through the Strait of Hormuz.
