Iranian airlines subject to US sanctions suspended flights to Georgia starting today, Georgia's Radio Liberty service reported.
The carriers operated their last flights to Georgia on September 20, and from September 21 their operations in the Georgian aviation market will be restricted.
On September 8, the US Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) added 27 Iranian airlines to its sanctions list. Among them are carriers operating flights between Iran and Georgia. Following the US decision, Georgia's Civil Aviation Agency said the sanctions regime would be observed in full.
